-1 Thessalonians 5:21-22
Tenant I
We believe, 'All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for showing people what is wrong in their lives, for reproof, for correcting faults, and for teaching how to live right. Using the Scriptures, the person who serves God will be capable, having all that is needed, being thoroughly equipped to do every good work.'
-II timothy 3: 16-17
Commentary:
If we are to consider the Bible as the inspired word of God, it should be our final authority in all matters. Thus we should adhere to it before the doctrines of man. The Bible was written as a guide for mankind to establish a relationship with our heavenly Father and will lead us to a life of serving God and our fellow man with gratitude.
Tenant II
We believe in God the Father, his anointed Son our Lord, and the power of the Holy Spirit united as one, as we too who have accepted Christ are all united in one spirit and one body which is represented by the 'Church', the sum of all true believers. The head of the body is Christ our Lord, and at the head of Christ is God the Father. God put all things under Christ's control. When it says “all things” are under him, it is clear this does not include God himself. God is the One who put everything under his control. After everything has been put under the anointed Son, then he will put himself under God, who had placed all things under him. Then God will be the complete ruler over everything. The LORD [YHVH] our GOD is One.
-John 17:21, 1 Corinthians 11:3, 1 Corinthians 15:27-28
Tenant III
We believe in the appointing of Jesus our Lord as the Messiah OR Christ. Who God chose to anoint with his Spirit from the beginning of the world; to fulfill his plan bringing justice to all nations, a sign of God's agreement with the Jews and a light to shine for all people. Those who are spiritually blind we see the light through their darkness and will be freed out of their prison.
-Isaiah 42, Acts 2:23, Acts 2:36, Acts 4:27-28
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
-John 3:16-21
Tenant IV
We believe that salvation is obtained through confessing with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Our sin is forgiven through repentance; we are forgiven and saved by God's grace through faith. By faith in Christ we have been grafted into the promise. Faith and action work together; faith is made complete by one's actions. One demonstrates his or her faith by serving God and following his commandments. Faith without actions is dead. Our actions should be a result of our faith. If people say they have faith, but do nothing, their faith is worth nothing. Therefore go and live the example which Christ set forth. "For many are invited, but few are chosen."
-Ezekiel 18, Romans 10:9, Romans 11:16-24, Ephesians 1:7 & 2:8, James 2:14-26, Matthew 22:14
We believe in publicly identify ourselves with Christ through his death and resurrection by baptism. We believe in his death on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, his burial in the tomb, and his bodily resurrection, raised by God as we too will one day be raised upon his return.
-Philippians 2:11, Acts 2:32-33, 1 Corinthians 15:21-23
Tenant V
Christ did not come to abolish the Law or the Prophets, but to fulfill them.
-Matthew 5:17
"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the LORD [YHVH] your GOD with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
-Matthew 22:36-39
Commentary:
If you want to give, your gift will be accepted. It will be judged by what you have, not by what you do not have. We do not want you to have troubles while other people are at ease, but we want everything to be equal. At this time you have plenty. What you have can help others who are in need. Then later, when they have plenty, they can help you when you are in need, and all will be equal. As it is written in the Scriptures, "The person who gathered more did not have too much, nor did the person who gathered less have too little."
-2 Corinthians 8:12-15
Each of you should give as you have decided in your heart to give. You should not be sad when you give, and you should not give because you feel forced to give. God loves the person who gives happily.
-2 Corinthians 9:7
